Daughter’s Room: Finally Finished!

It was a loooooooooooooooong time in the making, but we FINALLY finished my daughter’s room.  You may recall that we first announced we were starting work on it many, many weeks ago (see here).  Now, truth be told, it was largely / nearly completely done a couple of months ago except for a couple of things. (I mean, check out this post on my daughter’s birthday and you can totally see glimpses of a largely functional and redecorated room….and that was just weeks after we announced that we had started on the room.)  And then it was actually completely done a couple of weeks ago but I just now got around to taking some photos and slapping them up here on this here blog o’ mine.

So, without further adieu, here is my daughter’s “big girl” room.  There are about 8 million photos, but there are also 8 million things in the room that I wanted to show you.

She loves it!  We love it!  Life is good.

Throughout the week, I’ll share with you the source list for all of the furniture and accessories.  I’ll also give you a few tips on painting stripes on a wall because I was terrified that it was going to come out all sorts of wiggly and wobbly but it didn’t and so I want to share with you how I did it in case you want to ever tackle stripes.  There’s not much DIY in the room, but I’ll also share with you a couple of the projects I took on.

What do you think?  I think I would have died and gone to Heaven if I’d had such an awesome pretty pink princess palace room when I was a little girl… And I just love when you have a vision in your head of what you want a room to look like when you’re all done with it and then it actually lives up to that vision.  Don’t get me wrong…. we had to make some adjustments along the way because life will always throw you some curve balls, but – at the end of the day – it largely looks like I envisioned it.  And that’s a big relief.

{UPDATE:  For BEFORE photos of the room, see here.}
